For the dinner table

Today's khutbah reminded us to speak good words and be careful about what we say. The khateeb explained that telling the truth helps us grow in righteousness, while lying, breaking promises, and betraying trust lead us away from good character. He warned about spreading rumors and telling lies just to make people laugh. He also spoke honestly about his own need to improve and asked Allah to forgive and purify our hearts. He closed with hope: Allah's mercy is greater than our sins, and we should turn to Him for forgiveness when we make mistakes.
