For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah reminded us that Islam is not only a set of rituals; prayer should change how we treat people. We should honor our parents with patience and love while they are alive, and continue praying for and honoring them after they die. Allah asks us to care for vulnerable people and strengthen our Muslim community through support, service, teaching, welcoming, and simple kindness. Our neighbors and children learn about Islam from our character and actions. This week, we can pray sincerely, serve someone, visit or call our parents, and help someone feel closer to Allah.

  1. Who did you encourage or help this week?
