For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that another Friday is a gift from Allah and that our time should be used thoughtfully. Being a good Muslim means doing good and working to leave wrongdoing behind, including small habits we might overlook. Our deeds need sincerity, and our words matter: gossip can hurt others, and promises bring responsibility. When we cannot keep a promise, he urged us to tell the person, apologize, and ask Allah for forgiveness. He ended with hope, reminding us that good deeds help wash away misdeeds and that simple kindnesses, like sharing food or smiling at someone, matter.

  2. How could you change the subject kindly when a conversation turns into gossip?
