For the dinner table

The khutbah reminded us that the Prophet Muhammad showed mercy even when he himself was under enormous pressure. When a Bedouin man was cheated by Abu Jahl, the Prophet helped him immediately instead of calculating what it might cost. We were encouraged to notice opportunities to help, act on them, and trust Allah's mercy rather than inventing excuses. The sermon also asked us to pray and work for people suffering in Gaza, Sudan, and elsewhere.
