Quotes
In the khateeb's words
“that's what we all gonna leave this land with these two sheets. And not coming back to it.”
“You do your part for sa'ad. Safa and Marwa. Home to work. Teaching you that this is what you do, what you have to do.”
“It's not just to come back and call you hajj. No. It has a great meaning to fix you up.”
Talk about it at home
For the dinner table
The khateeb taught that Hajj is more than a journey or a title: it is meant to heal and change the heart. The two sheets of ihram remind us that we will leave this world with very little, so we should return what we owe and repair relationships. Ibrahim and Hajar show both obedience to Allah and the need to make sincere effort while trusting Allah for provision. Arafat and the story of the bankrupt person remind us to seek forgiveness and never take other people's rights lightly. Even if we are not in Makkah, we can keep our hearts connected to the pilgrims and let Hajj's lessons shape our everyday choices.
- What does it mean to do your part and then trust Allah?
- What relationship or promise could we make right this week?
- How can worship change someone on the inside?
