Talk about it at home

For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah teaches that ihsan means excellence: worshipping as if we see Allah, and remembering that Allah always sees us. It should appear not only in prayer and fasting, but also in how we treat parents, family, and the people around us. The speaker encourages us to give a little more than required, expect a little less in return, and begin with one small practice we can repeat consistently. Allah promises that those who practice ihsan will receive ihsan, so our imperfect efforts can bring us closer to Him.

  1. What is one small good deed you could repeat every day?
  2. How can we show ihsan when someone at home annoys us?
  3. Where could you give more help without expecting something back?
