Nuh stayed steadfast despite rejection
“We need to utilize the different methods and reach people where they are.”
The story of Prophet Nuh teaches that inviting people toward Allah requires steadfastness, compassion, flexible outreach, reminders of divine mercy and power, and patience with rejection.

- Describes adapting outreach across day and night, private and public settings, while encouraging repentance and hope in Allah's mercy.
- Connects worship to Allah's creative power through human development, the heavens, sun, moon, and vegetation.
- Reviews objections against Nuh and class-based criticism of his followers, urging steadfastness and refusal to reject sincere believers.
In the khateeb's words
“We are the same and I have this concern for you.”
“But he does not reciprocate that harshness. But rather he responds in kindness and says that this is the message from your Rabb.”
“We see that the different tactics should be used. And on our day, the tactics may be different, but we need to utilize the different methods and reach people where they are and wherever they are receptive to the da'wah.”
For the dinner table
Today’s khutbah explored how Prophet Nuh, peace be upon him, called his people to Allah with patience and care. He continued for 950 years even though few accepted his message, reminding us that Allah rewards sincere effort. When people responded harshly, he kept speaking with kindness and concern. He tried different times and ways of reaching people, encouraged them to seek Allah’s forgiveness, and pointed to the signs of Allah’s power in creation. He also refused to turn away believers because of their social standing, teaching us to stay welcoming and steadfast in doing good.
- What is one good thing you want to keep trying even when progress feels slow?
- How could you respond kindly when someone speaks rudely to you?
- Who might feel left out at school or in our community, and how could we include them?
