For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah reminded us that misunderstandings can grow when we leave questionable situations unexplained, and that Satan uses doubt to divide people. We were encouraged to clarify our words and actions, care about how Islam is represented, and keep our appearance, manners, public spaces, and social-media posts respectful. The stories of Abdullah ibn Ubayy and Imam al-Bukhari showed how mercy, restraint, and integrity protect a community’s trust. Our everyday choices at the sink, on the road, at work, and in community life become part of the legacy we leave. We should ask Allah to protect our families, help people facing hardship, and make our lives a good representation of Islam.

  1. How can we tell when a photo or post might give people the wrong impression?
  2. What kind of legacy do we hope our everyday choices will create?
