Respect people when correcting ideas

“The same Allah who heard you in the month of Ramadan still hears you.”

The khateeb, at 99:04

In one sentence

The khutbah calls believers to honor divinely created differences through respectful disagreement and to carry Ramadan’s taqwa forward through small, consistent acts of worship.

The khutbah in 6 steps

  1. Gratitude for life and reflection on Allah’s varied creation
  2. Human differences serve cooperation rather than conflict
  3. Qur'anic and prophetic examples show that sincere disagreement can coexist with wisdom
  4. Respect the person while correcting the idea, preserving relationships over winning arguments
  5. Ramadan is training, not the destination; consistent worship sustains faith afterward
  6. Small steps in prayer, repentance, and good deeds gradually build taqwa

Talk about it at home

For the dinner table

Allah made people different in languages, colors, abilities, and ideas, so difference should help us serve one another rather than make us enemies. When we disagree, we should challenge the idea without hating or humiliating the person, and protect our relationships. Ramadan gave us training, not a finish line: even a small act of worship can keep our hearts connected to Allah. We should keep showing up for prayer, return quickly after mistakes, and ask Allah to grant us taqwa.

  1. What is one Ramadan habit you want to keep?
  2. How can we disagree kindly at home?
  3. What small good deed can you start this week?
