For the dinner table

The khutbah opened by honoring the people of Gaza, who continue to show faith and steadfastness amid enormous loss. Its main lesson was that apology is not humiliation: when Abu Dharr hurt Bilal, he admitted it, and the Prophet also softened the Ansar’s hearts even though he had not acted unjustly. We should apologize quickly when we are wrong and may even take the first step when we believe we are right, because peace and relationships matter more than winning an argument. In marriage and family life, do not let resentment sit overnight; seek reconciliation and accept sincere apologies without breaking someone’s pride. Forgiving others is tied to hoping that Allah will forgive us.
