For the dinner table

The khutbah reminded us that faith grows through listening, learning, and eventually understanding what we practice. It warned that entertainment, social media, and comfortable echo chambers can distract us from Allah and keep us from facing the truth about ourselves. Good deeds matter, but they should also help us remove bad habits and improve how we treat people. We were encouraged to examine ourselves before the Day of Judgment and to keep at least one honest, caring friend who helps us grow. The sermon closed by emphasizing that friendships built for Allah can last beyond this life.

  1. What is one distraction that makes it harder for you to focus on what matters?
  2. What makes advice feel loving instead of hurtful?
  3. How could you be a good mirror-friend to someone else?
