For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah reminded us that Allah provides for every creature and knows our needs. We should work and seek our provision in ways that please Him, even when we worry that doing the right thing might cost us an opportunity. The khateeb shared a story about a businessman who feared losing an investor if he refused to sell alcohol, but the investor simply accepted his answer. Through the story of Musa and his mother, he reminded us that we can trust Allah’s wisdom even when we feel afraid or cannot see how things will work out. Learning Allah’s names and attributes together can help us know Him better and find greater contentment in our faith.

  1. What is something Allah provides that you felt thankful for today?
  2. What helps you do the right thing when you feel nervous about someone’s reaction?
  3. Which name of Allah mentioned in the khutbah would you like us to learn more about together?
