For the dinner table

Today's khutbah reminded us that Allah cares about the intentions behind our actions. The khateeb explained that truthfulness includes being sincere inside, as well as being honest in what we say and do. He described how hiding a lie brings worry, while truthfulness brings peace of mind and heart. He also reminded us that Allah rewards sincere intentions to do good even when we cannot carry them out, and rewards turning away from a bad intention for His sake. We can keep working on making both our intentions and our actions pure, asking Allah to accept our efforts.
