Islam requires service, not just ritual

Talk about it at home

For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that Allah gives us abilities and gifts that we can use to serve His creation. He encouraged us to keep doing good even when we cannot see the results. He urged us to understand the Qur’an and let prayer remind us how to live with justice, honesty, and kindness. At home, that means being loving and humble, keeping our word, and taking our responsibilities to one another seriously. He also encouraged us to ease other people’s burdens through excellent deeds, including feeding someone who is hungry and supporting someone facing hardship.
