For the dinner table

Today's khutbah reminded us that love for the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, grows as we learn about him and follow his example. The khateeb described his humility with his family, his attention to children, and the care that made his companions feel loved. He noticed people others overlooked and defended the dignity of a companion who kept making mistakes while still correcting his behavior. These stories invite us to practice mercy, give people our attention, and help one another grow. The khateeb also reminded us that loving the place we call home can inspire us to face injustice honestly and work together to make our community better.
