For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah reminded us that we do not have to personally love everyone, but we should still want good for everyone. The Prophet showed this by helping people who misunderstood him and responding to rudeness with patience and generosity. Islam teaches us to treat Muslims as brothers and sisters in faith, and everyone else as brothers and sisters in humanity. We can follow the Prophet by being approachable, keeping promises, listening carefully, helping neighbors, and visiting the sick. Our character should make the mercy and goodness of Islam visible.
