Talk about it at home
For the dinner table
The first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah are a special chance to increase worship, charity, and fasting. The khutbah used the Prophet’s Farewell Sermon at Arafah to remind us that people’s lives, property, and honor are sacred, and that racism and tribal pride have no place in Islam. The Day of Arafah is especially blessed for dua; those not performing Hajj are encouraged to fast, while pilgrims at Arafah should not. Families were also encouraged to perform or donate an udhiyah, stay alert about mosque safety, and remember Amin and his family in prayer.
- What is one good deed we can increase during the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah?
- How can our family make someone feel respected and included this week?
- What can we do to help keep our masjid safe and supportive?
