Talk about it at home

For the dinner table

The khutbah teaches that haste and instant reactions can quietly weaken our faith and disturb our relationships. The Prophet Muhammad showed that real strength means controlling ourselves when we are angry and responding with ihsan. Ihsan means remembering that Allah sees us, so our character should not depend on how others treat us. We should practice pausing, choosing gentleness over shouting, forgiveness over grudges, and excellence in our homes. The family should receive our best character, not whatever energy remains after everything else.

  1. When is it hardest for you to pause before reacting?
  2. What does real strength look like when someone is rude to you?
  3. How can we show ihsan to someone in our family this week?
