Revive the Prophet’s character and Sunnah
“I have never seen anyone more beautiful in physical appearance as well as in spirituality and as well as in akhlaq than Muhammadur Rasulullah.”
Allah has blessed humanity with Prophet Muhammad, and Muslims honor that blessing by reviving his character, sunnah, and seerah while cleansing their hearts.
The khutbah in 4 steps
- Ibn Abbas’s interpretation of Surah Ibrahim identifies Allah’s blessing as the Prophet Muhammad and warns against ingratitude.
- Reports about the Prophet’s birth and creation’s greetings emphasize his extraordinary status.
- Anas’s service to the Prophet illustrates his beauty and the importance of maintaining a clean heart.
- Following the Prophet’s sunnah is presented as the path to his companionship in Paradise, followed by prayers for those facing illness, hardship, and death.
In the khateeb's words
“I have never seen anyone more beautiful in physical appearance as well as in spirituality and as well as in akhlaq than Muhammadur Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam”
“if we want the ma'iyyat of the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam on the day of judgment the path to that is the practices of our habib sallallahu alaihi wasallam”
For the dinner table
The khutbah teaches that the Prophet Muhammad is one of Allah’s greatest blessings to humanity. We show gratitude not only by remembering him, but by bringing his character and sunnah into our daily lives. The speaker especially emphasizes keeping a clean heart free from hatred, jealousy, ego, and grudges. Rabi'ul Awwal can renew our connection to the Prophet’s seerah, but love and remembrance should continue throughout the year. We should also pray for people who are sick, suffering, or grieving.
- What is one kind or forgiving action that reflects the Prophet’s character?
- Which sunnah would you like to practice more often this week?
- How can our family keep our hearts clean when we disagree?
