For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah taught that a successful life does not happen by itself; it takes thoughtful rules, self-discipline, and steady effort. We were encouraged to practice humility, avoid self-centeredness, carry only responsibilities we can manage, seek advice, keep good company, and speak carefully. Imam Ali al-Rida’s three traditions were explained as hiding people’s faults, treating others with warmth and kindness, and remaining patient in both hardship and success. If we practice these habits, our lives can become more peaceful and our faith can grow.

  1. Which kind of company helps you become a better person, and how can you choose it?
  2. When could speaking less or choosing kinder words prevent a problem?
  3. How can we show patience when something good happens to us?
