For the dinner table

Today's khutbah reminded us that charity can be part of our whole day, even when we have no money to give. Helping someone carry a bag, speaking kindly, smiling, feeding an animal, and removing something harmful from a path can all be acts of charity. The khateeb encouraged us to bring peace with justice when people disagree and to show compassion at home and beyond our own community. He also reminded us that true richness is in the heart and encouraged us to remember Allah. He asked us to carry these lessons out of the mosque and begin practicing them right away.
