Choose friends who strengthen your faith
“It is a friendship rooted in mutual support and obedience of Allah, sincere counsel and shared purpose.”
Because companionship shapes faith, character, habits, and ultimate fate, Muslims should deliberately choose righteous friends and become sources of sincere support and guidance.

In the khateeb's words
“It's not just influence, because this constant company, it shapes your worldview, your values, and ultimately your fate.”
“It is a friendship rooted in mutual support and obedience of Allah, sincere counsel and shared purpose.”
“be that friend, the one whose presence is a source of light for others in this life and the next.”
For the dinner table
Islam teaches that our closest friends can shape our faith, character, habits, and future. Good friends remind us of Allah, encourage prayer, increase our knowledge, and inspire us to treat others well. We should be friendly and welcoming to everyone, while choosing our closest confidants carefully. A true friend supports us but also gives sincere advice when we are doing wrong. We should seek good companionship and try to become a source of light and benefit for others.
- What is one good quality you admire in a friend and want to develop in yourself?
- How can we make our online spaces more helpful and less distracting?
- What does being a supportive friend look like when someone makes a mistake?
