For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah are a special chance to turn toward Allah. We can use them for fasting, especially on the Day of Arafah, more dhikr, and extra night prayer. Hajj and every blessing are gifts from Allah, so we should respond with humility and gratitude rather than pride. Islam asks us to guide one another and show peace to Muslim and non-Muslim neighbors. After a mosque tragedy, the message was to grieve, stand together, and keep our masjid welcoming for ourselves and our children.

  1. What is one small good deed or dhikr you can do during the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah?
  2. How can we show gratitude without acting better than someone else?
  3. What can our family do to make the masjid and neighborhood feel peaceful?
