For the dinner table

Today's khutbah reminded us to make time for Allah, especially by putting aside buying and selling when it is time for Jumu'ah. We can enjoy Allah's gifts and work for our needs while keeping the hereafter first in our choices. The khateeb explained that trusting Allah to provide should encourage us to make an effort rather than become lazy. He also reminded us that prayer, fasting, and charity do not excuse hurting people through insults, lies, or taking what belongs to them. As a family, we can put these reminders into practice by protecting prayer time, treating others kindly, and sharing what Allah has given us.
