Talk about it at home

For the dinner table

The khutbah reminded us that success includes goodness in this life and in the life to come. The khateeb shared three pieces of the Prophet’s advice: control your tongue, let your home be sufficient for you, and feel remorse for your mistakes before Allah. Our words matter, whether we speak them aloud or send them on a phone, and even a simple greeting can brighten someone’s day. Making home a sanctuary means protecting our faith and appreciating what Allah has given us, while still going out for good purposes. We will all make mistakes, but we can keep returning to Allah with sincere regret and ask for His forgiveness.

  1. What kind words could you say to someone tomorrow to brighten their day?
  2. What is something about our home or family that you feel grateful for?
  3. What could help you turn back to Allah after making a mistake?
