For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah are precious days for worship, even when we do not feel the same excitement we feel in Ramadan. He encouraged us to remember Allah more often, increase our good deeds, and fast on the day of Arafah. He also called us to make tawbah, meaning to return sincerely to Allah, and to avoid sins and unfair treatment of others. His message gave us hope in Allah’s mercy and encouraged us to follow repentance with good actions. Since our time in this world is short, we can use today to worship Allah and treat our families and communities well.

  1. When could you pause tomorrow to say Alhamdulillah and remember Allah?
  2. What is one way you could be fairer or kinder to someone at home this week?
  3. What good deed would you be happy to see in the record of your life?
