Hajj teaches remembrance in every part of life

Talk about it at home

For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us of the Prophet’s Farewell Sermon, including honoring people’s lives and property, returning what is entrusted to us, and treating others with kindness and justice. He explained that remembering Allah is at the heart of Hajj and should continue throughout our daily lives. We can remember Allah with our hearts, our words, and our actions, including prayer, charity, and doing our work well because Allah sees us. He also encouraged us to reflect on Allah’s creation and regularly ask Him for good in this world and the Hereafter. As a family, we can help one another make room for this remembrance and seek the tranquility the khateeb described.

  1. What is something someone trusted you with, and how did you take care of it?
  2. What part of nature made you pause or wonder this week?
  3. How could you remember Allah while doing homework or helping at home?
