Learn the Prophet's life, then live it

“You can only love somebody if you get to know that person.”

The khateeb, at 9:14

Muslims should deepen love for the Prophet by studying his life and family, then embody that love through trust in Allah, perseverance, community care, and preferring the afterlife over worldly comfort.

For the dinner table

The khutbah invited us to love the Prophet by learning his life, not merely repeating that we love him. His example teaches us to welcome newcomers, make family members feel valued, keep doing good even when beginnings are small or setbacks come, and trust Allah's wisdom. The second khutbah reminded us to learn Aisha and the other Mothers of the Believers through their character, knowledge, sacrifice, and devotion rather than through controversy alone. We were encouraged to choose Allah and the afterlife over luxury, keep the prescribed dhikr after prayer, and fill the prayer rows. This week, our family can study one seerah episode, practice one act of inclusion, and make the dhikr together.

  1. Which story about the Prophet made you think differently about how to treat people?
  2. What is one way we can help someone feel included this week?
  3. What good habit can we practice together after salah?
