For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah reminded us that loving the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, is at the heart of our faith. The khateeb shared stories of his love for his ummah, including his prayers for their forgiveness and his concern for them on the Day of Judgment. He also described how the Prophet responded to people’s mistakes with mercy and helped others move from anger toward compassion. We were reminded that our love should follow his guidance and keep our worship devoted to Allah alone. The khutbah ended with three ways to nurture that love: follow his example, learn about his life, and send prayers and blessings upon him.

  1. When someone makes a mistake, what would a kind and helpful response look like?
  2. What would you like to learn about the Prophet’s life together?
  3. Who could we remember in our duas tonight, and what could we ask Allah to give them?
