For the dinner table

The khutbah teaches that loving Prophet Muhammad is part of complete faith and should be greater than our love for any other person. We show that love by learning his way, following his commands, avoiding what he forbade, and imitating his character in easy and difficult times. We should honor him as Allah’s messenger and servant without exaggerating his status. To grow in love, we can study his sunnah, seerah, and shama’il, then share what we learn with our families and communities. The khutbah ends by asking Allah to cleanse our hearts, make us knowledgeable, and help us follow the sunnah.

  1. What is one sunnah you would like to learn or practice this week?
  2. Who in our family can we teach one thing about the Prophet’s life?
  3. How can we keep our love for the Prophet balanced and respectful?
