For the dinner table

The khutbah asks us to think about the kind of legacy we leave after we die. It teaches that three things can keep bringing reward: ongoing charity, knowledge that continues helping people, and a righteous child who prays for their parents. The stories of Uthman and of parents who supported their children’s learning show that lasting community benefit takes sacrifice and investment. We are encouraged to support the masjid, scholars, teachers, and institutions while guiding our children toward serving Allah and the community.
