For the dinner table

The khateeb reflected on the story of Allah teaching Prophet Adam names, explaining an interpretation that these included the names of all his descendants. He invited us to imagine Adam pointing to people whose faith, kindness, and perseverance show the goodness humanity can bring. He reminded us of the prophets and their families, who stayed faithful through difficult trials. We can follow their examples by returning to the Quran, asking Allah for forgiveness when we slip, treating our families well, and helping people in need. We cannot fix every wrong in the world, but each of us can sincerely try to make it a little better.

  1. What small act of kindness could you do tomorrow to make someone’s day easier?
  2. How could we make reading the Quran together a regular part of our week?
  3. When doing the right thing feels hard, what helps you keep trying?
