For the dinner table

The khutbah begins with Surah al-Mutaffifeen, warning that cheating in weights and measures is a sign of forgetting the Day of Judgment. It then widens the lesson: oppression can happen when spouses neglect each other’s rights, workers are not paid, debts are delayed, children are treated unfairly, or peaceful neighbors are wronged. We are encouraged to keep promises, pay what we owe, treat family fairly, respect parents, and pray with real attention. The message is that worship and justice belong together, and every small right matters before Allah.

  1. Where might we need to give someone more fairness this week?
  2. What helps you focus and feel humble during salah?
  3. How can our family become better at keeping promises and paying what we owe?
