For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us to thank Allah for another day and another Jumu'ah. His main message was to respond to wrongdoing with something better, choosing goodness, kindness, and self-restraint. We cannot control everything that happens to us, but we can work on how we respond. He shared how speaking to a man about his daughter's future helped build an understanding and keep drug dealing away from the mosque. He explained that patience means continuing to work hard and obey Allah while trusting Him with the results. He also warned that anger in a brief moment can lead to lasting harm, so prayer and daily discipline help us prepare to respond wisely.

  1. What could you say if someone insults you and you want to respond with something better?
  2. What helps you pause and choose your words when you feel angry?
  3. What is one thing you can keep working on patiently this week?
