For the dinner table

The khutbah tells the story of the early Muslims who were tortured in Mecca and migrated to Abyssinia for safety. Ja'far explained Islam honestly to the Christian king An-Najashi, describing a faith that teaches worship of one God, truthfulness, trust, family ties, good treatment of neighbors, and justice. After hearing verses about Maryam and Isa, the king protected the Muslims. The lesson for us is to be proud of Islam without looking down on anyone or hiding what we believe. We should let that pride appear in our everyday choices: telling the truth, keeping promises, caring for family, serving our community, and treating neighbors generously.
