For the dinner table

The khutbah used the life of Uthman ibn Affan to show how a believer can remain gentle, generous, and devoted to the Qur'an during severe trials. It recalled his modesty, his major charitable support for the Muslims, and his role in gathering the Qur'an into one written copy. When opponents besieged him, Uthman refused to let others fight on his behalf and accepted his fate with patience. The message for our family is to keep the Qur'an and Sunnah close, especially when we face ridicule, hardship, or unfair treatment.

  1. What quality of Uthman would you most like to practice?
  2. How can we show love for the Qur'an this week?
  3. What can help us stay patient when others misunderstand us?
