This khutbah teaches that silence can protect us from sin and help us notice what is happening inside us. The speaker says the tongue should be used for words that are clearly beneficial, while harmful or doubtful speech is better left unsaid. Because every word is recorded, a careless remark can damage us, while a sincere good word can raise us. We are encouraged to fill our speech with remembrance of Allah and avoid speaking negatively about people. In daily life, we can pause before talking and ask whether our words bring real good.
