For the dinner table

Today's khutbah explored what we can do when we feel stuck and cannot see a way forward. The khateeb told how Musa, tired and fearful after fleeing Egypt, still helped two sisters water their animals. Musa used the strength he had and walked away without waiting for thanks or payment. He then turned to Allah in dua, acknowledging his need for whatever good Allah would provide. The khateeb encouraged us to make dua with conviction and keep doing good, reminding us that even a small kindness can lead to something much greater.

  1. Musa used his strength to help others; what could you use to help someone this week?
  2. How could you handle feeling disappointed when someone forgets to thank you?
  3. When you feel stuck, what could you ask Allah for, and what good action could you take?
