For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah reminded us to watch for arrogance, even when we are learning about Islam or doing good deeds. The khateeb encouraged us to worship sincerely for Allah, without looking down on others or seeking their praise. He explained that humility includes stepping away from arguments for Allah’s sake and treating people as we would like to be treated. Our abilities, faith, health, and each new day are blessings that give us reasons to say alhamdulillah. Instead of always noticing what others have, we can remember our own blessings and let gratitude help us grow more content.
