For the dinner table

Today the khutbah was about Prophet Nuh (AS), who called his people to worship Allah alone for 950 years, but only a few believed. When Allah told him no more would believe, he built the ark while people laughed at him. Then the great flood came, with waves like mountains. Nuh begged his son to come aboard, but his son said he would climb a mountain and be safe, and he drowned. When Nuh asked Allah about his son, Allah told him his son was not of his family because his deeds were not righteous. This teaches us that faith is the strongest tie between people, and that the best outcome is for those who are patient and fear Allah.

  1. If you were Nuh's son, what would you have said when your father called you onto the ark?
  2. Nuh kept calling people to Allah for 950 years. What is something you find hard to keep doing, and how can patience help?
  3. Why do you think believers are like one big family, even if we aren't related?
