For the dinner table

Imam John reminded us that our blessings come from Allah and that our responsibilities to others are a trust. Being fair can be hard when we want to protect our comfort, reputation, or someone we love. He asked us to look at our own choices at home, at school, and at work, beyond judging the choices of public figures. We can prepare for difficult moments by asking Allah for steadfastness, practicing honesty, and choosing friends who encourage what is right. As a family, we can help one another act with courage and remember that pleasing Allah matters more than winning people's approval.

  1. What could you say kindly if a friend was treating someone unfairly?
  2. What is one responsibility you have that helps someone else?
  3. Who helps you do the right thing when it feels difficult, and how do they help?
