True intelligence means living Quranic values
“Your covenant between you and your wife is a covenant with Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.”
The khateeb argues that genuine intelligence and ultimate success come not from AI-enabled ease but from Quran-guided spiritual qualities such as honoring covenants, patience, prayer, generosity, and answering harm with goodness.
The khutbah in 7 steps
- Warns that AI’s convenience may replace human relationships and create serious risks.
- Contrasts technological ease with patience and effort as the path to Jannah.
- Presents Surah al-Ra’d’s recipe for spiritual intelligence and the ulul al-bab.
- Applies the recipe to marriage, business, citizenship, family ties, and accountability.
- Explains patience, prayer, generosity, and responding to harm with goodness.
- Connects these qualities to personal harassment, global suffering, and hope for Paradise.
- Urges listeners to return to the Quran, ponder it, and live its guidance.
In the khateeb's words
“On the surface, it's making everything easy. But Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala who created us is telling us it's not how easy you may find certain things that will get you eternal success.”
“People of wit, people of real intelligence, and if you want to really save yourself and get the ultimate reward, then you'd better be good at putting those ingredients together.”
“the covenants of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala are in everything your covenant between you and your wife is a covenant with Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala”
For the dinner table
The khateeb warned that AI can make life easy while weakening human relationships and tempting us to avoid effort. He said the Quran teaches a deeper intelligence: honoring promises, keeping family ties, revering Allah, remembering accountability, being patient, establishing prayer, giving from what we have, and answering harm with good. These qualities help us face personal pain and the suffering of people around the world while seeking Allah’s pleasure. He encouraged us to return to the Quran, ponder it, and live its guidance together as a community.
- What is one promise or responsibility we can honor more carefully this week?
- How can we respond kindly when someone is rude or unfair?
- What does it mean to really live the Quran, not just read it?
