For the dinner table

The khateeb explained that a believer should be like a mirror for another believer, helping them see themselves honestly and with care. When we offer advice, our purpose should be to help someone improve, using gentle words rather than anger or put-downs. A good mirror also shows what is going well, so we should notice progress and encourage better choices without bringing up old mistakes. We should protect people's privacy, avoid jumping to conclusions, and stop sharing things about others that do not benefit them. He reminded us to choose our own advisers carefully and to want the best for one another, which sometimes means giving advice and sometimes means being patient.

  2. What small improvement have you noticed in someone that you could encourage?
  3. What makes someone a good person to ask for advice?
