Today’s khutbah reminded us to be mindful of Allah in our everyday choices. The khateeb explained that the Prophet Muhammad’s greatness included his sincere dedication to living the message he taught, even with very few material resources. He emphasized fairness and warned against making exceptions simply because someone is wealthy, powerful, or close to us. He also described how the companions carefully considered the decision to collect the Quran in written form, listening until they understood its value. As a family, we can show our love for the Prophet by learning from his example throughout the year and practicing honesty, kindness, and fairness.
