For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that Dhul-Hijjah is a chance to renew our love for Allah and our hope in His mercy and help. He explained that the practices of this season should draw our hearts closer to Allah and loosen our attachment to material things. He encouraged us to make room for remembering Allah instead of filling every quiet moment with our phones. Being in a special place is not enough by itself; we also need to work on the state of our hearts. Through Ibrahim’s story, he encouraged us to begin changing one good choice at a time, pausing to consider what would please Allah in our worship, work, and treatment of family.

  1. What helps you pay attention to Allah when you pray?
  2. When you feel upset, what good choice could help you treat your family kindly?
