For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that Eid al-Adha teaches us about sacrifice, trust, and devotion to Allah through the story of Ibrahim and Ismail. He encouraged us to give our time, money, pride, and comfort for Allah’s sake. He also described how Ibrahim and Ismail showed humility after building the Kaaba, reminding us to stay humble when we accomplish something good. The message of sacrifice is about our taqwa, our awareness of Allah and our sincere intention to please Him. Eid is also a time to come together and share food and joy with relatives, friends, and people who are hungry.
