Every heart can open a door to goodness

“If you have the chance to enter any door of khair, do it by yourself.”

The khateeb, at 15:23

In one sentence

Because every person has a capacity for goodness, Muslims should actively open doors to it by welcoming people, repenting, deepening prayer, repairing relationships, and acting immediately while preparing for Ramadan.

For the dinner table

Shaaban is a chance to prepare for Ramadan, and we should not wait for a perfect moment to begin doing good. The imam reminded us that the masjid should welcome people gently, because harsh treatment can push someone away from prayer and faith. We should care for our souls by repenting, choosing halal paths, praying with attention, and making dua in sujood. We should also repair any rights or relationships we have neglected. Finally, we should remember suffering families in Gaza and Palestine and use every open door of goodness while we can.
