For the dinner table

Today's khutbah reminded us that Allah provides for us and that the way we seek His provision matters. The khateeb encouraged us to ask Allah for His bounty instead of becoming jealous of what others have. He explained that dua goes together with effort, such as studying, preparing for work, and exercising for good health. He urged us to earn in ways that are halal and good, connecting our earnings with worship and dua. He also reminded us that worship includes everyday family life, including how we treat our spouses and children.

  1. When someone has something you wish you had, how could you handle that feeling without becoming jealous?
  2. What is one goal you can make dua for and take a practical step toward this week?
  3. How could you make the way you treat someone at home an act of worship tomorrow?
