For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that we need three things: Allah's help to do good, an inner advisor, and a willingness to accept advice from others. We can ask Allah for tawfiq even when life is going well, asking Him to make good deeds easier for us. Taking time to reflect on our day helps us notice mistakes, such as talking about someone behind their back, and begin correcting them. Good friends help us see what we can improve, and we should offer advice with thoughtful words and in private. Speaking about news of a ceasefire in Gaza, the khateeb urged everyone to keep praying, help through trustworthy and legal means, and share information peacefully.

  1. What good deed would you like to ask Allah to help you do more easily?
  2. When you look back on today, what would you like to do differently tomorrow?
  3. How would you want a friend to tell you that you had made a mistake?
