For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah reminded us that the Prophet taught people gradually, helping them build love for Allah and strong faith before taking on harder responsibilities. The khateeb connected belief in Allah and the Day of Judgment with everyday actions: keeping family ties, welcoming guests generously, and choosing good words. He also spoke about modesty and avoiding gatherings where intoxicants are being passed around. He gave special attention to neighbors, encouraging us to respect their privacy, avoid causing inconvenience, and offer practical help. He shared how neighbors supported the masjid after a hate letter and encouraged Muslims to show that same care for others. As a family, we can start with a small act of connection, kindness, or service this week.

  1. Which relative could we call this week, and what would you like to ask them?
  2. How could we help a guest feel welcome in our home?
